INDEPENDENT MUSIC CONVERSATION

The Independent Music Conversation is an exciting project aiming to empower and inspire. We want to build a new ethos in which music artists; labels; publishers; managers; promoters; radio stations & shows; online media; merch makers etc. can work together, support one another and help independent practitioners in every part of the indie music sector to grow and be successful.

We are not looking to replace or usurp anyone. We are not trying to be a membership body or any kind of fee-paying service. This is what its name suggests – a conversation – but one that involves the widest possible spectrum of independent stakeholders in thinking about what we can all do to help one another maximise exposure, keep costs down and reach as many people as possible in the process.

Our mission is to:

• get as many of these stakeholders as possible to work together in everyone’s mutual interests

• maximise opportunities and exposure for all involved

We aim to build a network, host events and put on a conference in early 2020 where we can get as many people as possible in one space debating how we pool resources, support one another in building audience reach and significantly increase the footprint of those working at the cutting edge and front line of independent music.
