ETHEREAL SOUNDSCAPES COMPILATION PLANNED

Demerera Records plan to put out a compilation in 2016 focused on ethereal, otherworldly soundscapes. So if you have tracks that are maybe harmonically modal and unconventional or which utilise strong evocative sounds in a surreal or dreamlike way, please submit them using one of the following methods:

  • create a dropbox folder and add demerararecords@yahoo.co.uk
  • put the track(s) on a Soundcloud page & email details to us
  • attach file(s) to a WeTransfer file with a covering message

Please do not use any other method to submit tracks. Tracks selected will be used on an informal license basis whereby the composer/artist allows Demerara Records to use the track(s) on the album but the composer/artist retains full ownership of both the track and recording and can use it/them again for separate release in the future.

Resonance FM Prog recording today

Today we record the long awaited one hour special about the This is Tomorrow Calling album with Resonance FM. The programme will feature chat between host Dan Ross and Demerara Records head and composer Neil March with tracks and interviews with some of the composers. Broadcast and Podcast details will follow soon.

STUART MACONIE FREAK ZONE PLAYS & PRAISES TOMORROW CALLING ALBUM

Here it is, the Podcast for last night’s Freak Zone on BBC 6 Music with the legendary Stuart Maconie. Listen to what he says about the This is Tomorrow Calling album and hear him praise and play Veera Lummi‘s (formerly Veera Markkanen) beautiful 12 Seconds of Light at around 19:10. Fitting that it should immediately follow the Velvet Undergound & Nico‘s Venus in Furs, one of the great groundbreaking classics of Rock music 🙂

Click this link to hear the show (which includes fascinating insights into the relationship between the Velvets and Andy Warhol and a top drawer selection of tracks including the Velvets’ debut album which is featured throughout).

WARM WORDS FROM STUART MACONIE ON BBC 6 MUSIC FREAK ZONE

Legendary broadcaster Stuart Maconie gave everyone involved in the This is Tomorrow Calling album a massive boost tonight. Because not only did he play Veera Markkanen’s (now Veera Lummi) beautiful 12 Seconds of Light on his show Freak Zone on BBC 6 Music but he paid a glowing tribute to the album as well as referring to having previously played Neil March‘s music on the show and explaining what the project was about and that it offered three hours of music at single album price. As soon as it is available, we will put the link to the Podcast of the show on this website.

Big big thank you to Stuart and to his producer Becca Gaskell for making this happen and liaising with us so that we knew Veera’s track would be on the show tonight.
