Vanishing Point Gig has Social Media buzzing !!!

Demerara Records‘ December Vanishing PointThe Ivy House has created quite a buzz on social media. And not just because Neil March uses the Twitter handle @HornetMuziq!!

An appreciative Vanishing Point crowd saw Liverpool collective Operation Lightfoot play a beautiful set of exotic and unique songs (including two solo tracks by singer Julia aka Dorothy Bird). They were supported by local acts Rookery who performed a gripping hypnotic set of avant garde music with improv and spoken word and Demerara’s Neil March. Neil and Dilara took a break from Environmental Sound Foundation to perform a set of Neil’s contemporary classical works for which they were joined by Clara Yang on Flute (Dilara on Piano), the first such gig since Neil played the BBC Introducing Stage at Latitude 2017.

SUPPORT OUR CROWDFUNDER !!!

Saturday 29th September 2018 saw the start of our crowdfunding campaign for the groundbreaking compilation album Vanishing Point (Vol. 1). See the below image for a list of the artists contributing to it.

VP Vol 1 Front & Back Covers

Until the official release of the album on 1st November anyone who purchases the exclusive pre-release download from Bandcamp will receive a CD copy of the album following its release.

Your money will help us pay for CD pressing and associated costs and will mean we can sell copies of the album at our live events and hopefully make enough money to pay our talented musicians something too.

Vanishing Point (Vol. 1) is a 19-track compilation of experimental, leftfield, electronic and contemporary classical music. Click here to read more about it.

Please note a few of the longest tracks have been slightly shortened to fit the album on the CD version. These are minor edits and the download version contains the full length versions.

TRIBUTES AND SADNESS FOR A MANIC GENIUS

It is with huge sadness that we have to report the passing of John Molloy, aged 58, following a long up-and-down battle with cancer. John played with Neil March in the band that played the BBC Introducing Stage at Latitude in 2017. He was however more well-known as one half of 1980s Electronic Pop pioneers Mainframe.

John Molloy close up

John was a complete one-off; a computer wizard before most of us had ever even seen a computer, a virtuoso keyboardist whose own composing saw him cover a multitude of genres and media.

Tributes have poured in on social media underlining the hundreds of lives he touched both as a musician and a human being. Our thoughts are with his lovely and super talented partner Damon and his amazing family.
